I don’t think he’s weak, seems fine to me.

Well, again, that is why I said “but I suppose vs who

In my mind Ogre’s are a bit more powerful, and would be a challenge to higher than level 1s.

The build works, for sure, especially if your target is just level 1s.

@Shashi, Here’s an attempt at converting a Fantasy Age Bestiary entry using the Simple NPC creation rules (found on the Green Ronin website as a free download) http://greenronin.com/blog/2016/06/29/fantasy-age-bestiary-pre-order-pdf-preview/

Gatorkin (level 3)
Attributes: Agility 4, Might 5, Energy 4
Defenses: Toughness 16, Guard 14, Resolve 12
HP: 26
Speed: 30’
Favored Actions:

Spear - Might (d20+2d6) vs Guard, triggers Immobile
Bite (Only usable when target is Immobile) - Might (d20+2d6) vs Guard
Throwing Spear: range 30’ Agility(d20+2d6) vs Guard
Swamp Spew (once per encounter): 10’ line Energy (d20+d10) vs Toughness

Notes: Bite can only be used when Multi-Attacking.

When charging, ignore the disadvantage penalty.
Feats: Skill Specialization I (Agility), Multi-Attack Specialist I, Multi-Target I Specialist), Bane focus(Immobile)
Strategy: Stalk their prey and strike hard and fast, the Gatorkin attempts to skewer their prey with a spear and hold them in place whilst they bite down upon them

Not sure how well this is explained but the idea i had gotten from the entry was that they stalk their prey, and either hurl their spear or pin the target down so they can munch down upon them

@targ8practice - this is awesome. Now if you could just convert the whole FAGE Bestiary, that would be great. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hah I may just consider it, will give me practice at making NPCs. I’m no good at creating NPC’s or campaign settings, but adapting is another question

This should be d20+1d10, HOWEVER, you could conceivably use might for throwing a spear?

Spear - Might (d20+2d6) vs Guard, triggers Immobile

Suggest writing it as:

Spear - Might (d20+2d6) vs Guard, triggers Immobile on 5 damage or more.
Throw Spear - Agility (d20+1d10 w/ Advantage 1) vs Guard

I was going to suggest something for Bite + Spear but… there is a problem there. It mentions that they ONLY bite if the target is immobile, and it ALSO says they ONLY bite when multi-attacking. However, you typically have to declare BEFORE attacking if you are multi-attacking.

This means that you would have to attack first with the Spear and immobilize them, then wait until next turn, and hope they are still immobile to attack again.

Instead of tying it to Multi-Attack I specialist, you could just create a Special that is like Reckless Attack where for a minor action IF their spear attack Immobilizes, then they get a second attack as a minor action.

That would totally work using the minor action to bite and the throwing spear was meant to be Might well, that was a typo. So the bite attack would be

Special: if immobile as a minor action make a bite attack (Agility vs Guard)

Should throwing the spear also potentially be able to inflict the Immobile bane?

it could still inflict immobile, sure.

You need to change the attack specialization then, b/c right now it is agility. Though the attack specialization should actually be “Spear” not an attribute.

Agreed this would be young one that can grow up to fight a level 3 party on it’s own😈

##Glass coated zombie (level 1)
These zombies were once humanoids working in a glass factory until a tragic accident destroyed it and they were killed after being coated in molten glass

Attributes: Might 3, Fortitude 2
Defenses (vs Forceful & Precise): Toughness 12 (15), Guard 10 (13), Resolve 14 (17)
HP: 16
Speed: 30’

Favored Actions:
Body Slam: Might (d20+d8) vs Guard
Feats: Damage Resitance I (Forceful & Precise)

Glass Shell: The zombie is coated in glass which grants its two Damage resistance types, once 8HP damage is done, the glass shatters and only the Damage Resistance(Slashing) applies

Strategy: Once the see human flesh, they move at all speed to attack and consume them.

using “##” before a line makes that line a heading (for the name of the creature)

Heading
##Heading

using “**” at the beginning of word(s) and then at the end of word(s) makes them bold, don’t forget the end ones though, and make sure there is no space after the beginning one and none before the ending one.

Bold (with no “*”)
Bold (no ending)
Bold
(no beginning)
** Bold** (space)
Bold (correct)

Using just 1 “*” in the same way as the bold above makes it italic.

Also, there are quick button links that above in the editing are that if you just highlight the words you want to change, you can do it that way too.

EDIT:
Did a quick edit for you to modify it accordingly. Also made it more clear about the damage resistance in the defense area and named it the proper terms for OL

Sweet thanks  do the resistance idea make sense? Basically the glass is a second skin so to speak and once that’s shattered, the normal zombie resistances apply

That seems cool. I havne’t bothered to check, but do zombies normally have resistance to Slashing (Precise in OL)? I think it would make sense they have resistance to Bludgeoning (Forceful in OL). Slashing would cut off their limbs, etc?

I guess you could argue both ways. But yes, it is a cool concept. Might be cool that they also have a dice size higher while the glass is on, you know, since the glass could cut and what not? Or maybe persistant damage on any hit while glass.

I’m running off Pathfinder zombirs which are dr 5/slashing and id say persistent damage while the glass skin in still intact because of the shards embedding into your skin as it attacks

Also wasn’t there a wiki being built for all these creations?

This, but I dont’ know if people have sent in anything from this forum yet. I was planning to myself, but I have been busy.

The form to submit an NPC/Creature links you to being able able to edit the actual form itself.
